Baker made short work of winless Mac-Hi Saturday in the teams’ Greater Oregon League girls basketball opener at BHS.

The Class 4A fifth-ranked Bulldogs scored the first 10 points of the game and rolled to a 70-17 win.

Rose Gwillim scored six points and Jayme Ramos four as Baker (13-1) stormed out of the gate.

Gwillim led the way with nine first-quarter points as Baker coasted to a 20-7 advantage.

Then Baker shut the door on Mac-Hi’s (0-14) offense.

Baker scored the next 36 points, shutting out Mac-Hi until midway through the third quarter. By that time Baker led 53-8.

Gwillim outscored the Pioneers by herself, finishing with 18 points.

Sydney Keller added 13 points, Sydney Younger 12 and Ramos 12.

Baker continues GOL play Friday when the Bulldogs travel to Ontario. Baker then hosts Ridgeview in a nonleague game on Saturday.
