The Baker tennis teams had a rare occurrence Monday, sweeping La Grande in both boys and girls action at La Grande.

“It was a good day to be a Bulldog,” said Baker coach Dave Johnson.

“We swept La Grande. That was fantastic.”

Gabby Treblecock, Baker No. 2 girls singles, had the match of the day according to her coach. Treblecock dropped the first set, then rebounded by dominating the final two sets.

“Gabby played outstanding,” Johnson said. “She bowed her neck and got the job done.”

Baker won the other two girls singles matches in straight sets. The Bulldogs also swept the girls doubles matches in straight sets.

Baker won all three boys singles matches in straight sets as well.

The Bulldogs swept the boys doubles matches in three sets each.

“We saw lots of good things today,” Johnson said.

Baker will continue to be busy on the courts later this week and early next week.

Baker hosts Griswold Friday, Pendleton Saturday and Weiser Monday.
