Accident reports

Just east of Baker City on Highway 86, 7:47 a.m. Friday; police said Glen Thomas Jorgensen, 74, of Baker City, lost control of his GMC pickup truck on the icy overpass. The pickup truck crossed over the oncoming westbound lane and struck the cement bridge guardrail, ricochetted off the guardrail and spun around counter-clockwise, police said. Jorgensen was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center for further evaluation. The westbound travel lane was blocked for about 30 minutes. No public property was damaged. OSP said Oregon Department of Transportation workers and officers from the Baker City Police and Baker County Sheriff’s Office helped with traffic control.
