Lucille Couch Nellis: 102, a former Baker City resident, died June 20, 2017, at Dillon, Montana. There will be a celebration of her life at the Nellis family reunion in Flagstaff, Arizona, during the Fourth of July weekend 2017. Her ashes and the ashes of her husband, Alden, will be buried in a family plot at the Haviland Cemetery in Haviland, Kansas. To honor Lucille’s memory, her family encourages you to hug someone you love.

THEFT BY DECEPTION, NEGOTIATING A BAD CHECK, FORGERY and CONTEMPT OF COURT (Coos County warrant): James Thomas Kissinger, 42, of Baker City, 12:41 p.m. Monday, in the 2200 block of Resort Street; jailed; police said Kissinger forged a stolen check on the closed account of his estranged wife, Kristina Kissinger, 39, of Coos Bay, to purchase $135 in merchandise from Thatcher’s Ace Hardware.
FAILURE TO ABIDE BY DEFERRED PROSECUTION AGREEMENT (Baker County Circuit Court warrant): Emily Noelle Frerichs, 44, of 2375 Campbell St., 5:23 a.m. Tuesday, at her home; cited and released.
