Baker School District voters showed a clear preference for Katie Lamb over Peter Hall in Tuesday’s election to an open seat on the 5J Board.

Lamb, a Baker City mother of two and community volunteer, defeated Hall, a retired chef who lives at Haines, by a vote of 1,518 to 427, according to unofficial returns from the Baker County Clerks Office this morning. Fifteen write-in votes were cast.

Lamb will fill the Position 1 seat on July 1. The position has been vacant since January when Autumn Swiger-Harrell resigned and moved from Baker City with her family. Her term would have expired June 30.
