The Baker boys and girls tennis teams celebrated their final home matches of the season Tuesday by sweeping La Grande on the Ash Grove courts.

The Baker girls topped the Tigers 4-1, and the Baker boys took a 3-2 decision.

“It was good day for us,” said Baker coach Dave Johnson. “The kids played some good matches.”

Two of the boys matches lasted more than two hours each, and both were Baker wins.

In singles action, Baker’s Niels Rasmussen needed three sets and a third-set tie-breaker for the win.

In doubles play, Baker’s Isaac Nemec and Eli Lien also needed three sets to gain the win.

“They were great wins in both matches,” Johnson said.

Zach Schwin earned Baker’s other boys win in straight sets.

In girls doubles play, Johnson said Gabby Trebilcock and Isabella Nemec had the best match of the day, winning in two sets in the No. 2 match.

Hannah Johnson and Emma Finley won the No. 1 doubles.

Gracie Huggins and Woodward won their singles matches.

Baker travels to Weiser, Idaho, today for a nonleague match.

The Bulldogs then travel to Ontario Saturday and Monday for sub-district play.
