Thirteen Bulldogs named to GOL stars

A “Baker’s Dozen” 13 Bulldogs were named to the Greater Oregon League all-league football teams recently.

Baker had eight players named to the all-league first team, and five Bulldogs were selected for the all-league second team.

Lineman Sam Bootsma was named to the first team both on the offensive and defensive lines.

Joining Bootsma on the first-team defense were lineman James Mazzagotte, linebackers Marcus Plumley and Ryan Schwin, and defensive back James AhHee.

Joining Bootsma on the first-team offense were running back Jace Hays and punter Luke Ham.

Named to the all-GOL second team were linebacker Eli Wright, defensive back Brad Zemmer, offensive lineman Tristian Pogue, Schwin at tight end and wide receiver Grant Berry.

Baker finished the season with a 7-3 record, advancing to the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. The Bulldogs lost 28-0 to South Umpqua.
