NAMPA, Idaho — A team of Baker fourth- and fifth-graders won the Crash the Boards basketball tournament last weekend.

The Baker Dawgs won all four of their games en route to the championship.

That included two wins over the Boise Slam, a team that beat Baker twice last year in the same tournament, assistant coach Roland Hobson said.

“It was a very rewarding tournament due to the fact that we took second to the Boise Slam team last year,” Hobson said. “Our boys were very composed and truly have become a well-rounded team this year. They hustle like crazy and are very unselfish.”

Scores from the Crash the Boards tournament:

• Baker 44, Boise Break 35

• Baker 29, Meridian Thunder 22

• Baker 49, Boise Slam 31

• Baker 46, Boise Slam 30

The Baker roster is Grant Gambleton, Paul Hobson, Dash Bloomer, Hudson Spike, Kaden Conklin, Isaiah Jones, Jaron Long, Palmer Chandler, Jaxon Logsdon and Eli Long.

Jebron Jones is the team’s head coach.
