Pauline Thomas, 92, died Aug. 29, 2011, at her daughter Gloria’s home in Richland.
Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 10, 2011, at the Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie City. Interment will be at the Canyon City Cemetery.
Pauline Auda Thomas was born on March 22, 1919, at Twickenham near
Trending
Fossil. She lived up Fall Creek until starting the first grade at
Prairie City.
Pauline went to high school at Mount Vernon and was married before
graduation. She married Mickey Thomas on May 11, 1936, at Canyon City.
They made their home just below John Day in an area called Groville.
Mickey and Pauline had four children: Gloria, Naomi, Jack and Barbara.
During her life she worked at Thomas Greenhouses in Kimberly. Pauline enjoyed cooking, canning, fishing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mickey; brother,
Byron; sisters, Betty, Shirley and Flora; and a great- granddaughter,
Jody Marie Hills.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Wilson, and her husband, Wayne,
of Richland, Naomi Moss and her husband, Phil, of The Dalles, Barbara
Reilly and her husband, Allen, of Kimberly, and Jack Thomas and his
wife, Lila Mae, of White Salmon, Wash; eight grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
