Jerry and Alice Cantrell celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary May 23.

They were married in La Grande May 23, 1945. They moved to their ranch near Haines in 1958.

Jerry retired in 1989 from the Baker County Assessors Office. He served two terms as Baker County Assessor.

Alice retired in 1992 from the Baker School District.

They have three children: Mike in Gilbert, Ariz.; Tony in Aloha; and Kathy in Spanaway, Wash.

They also have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
