Davidson earns doctorate in nuclear engineering, radiology
Gregory G. Davidson, a 1998 graduate of Baker High School, has earned a doctorate of philosophy in nuclear engineering and radiology services, with a focus in scientific computing, from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering in 2002, and his master’s in 2004, both from Oregon State University.
He has accepted a position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tenn., as a research and development associate. He will reside in Knoxville, Tenn.
Dr. Davidson is a neutron transport scientist, which means he writes mathematical algorithms for nuclear engineering problems, and programs supercomputers to solve those problems. Currently, the world’s fastest supercomputer is at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
He is the son of former Baker City residents Steve and Judy Davidson, who now live in Newton, Kan.
