Jessica Ewing and Brandon Young are engaged to be married Oct. 17, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene.

Brad Grasley will officiate, and a reception will follow at Community Connection.

The couple will honeymoon in Cairns, Australia.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tom and Lynne Ewing of Baker City. She graduated from Baker High School in 2004 and from Oregon State University in 2009 with a bachelor’s in human development and family science.

She is a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service.

Young is the son of Grant and Carol Young of North Powder.

He graduated from Baker High School in 1999 and from Eastern Oregon University in 2008 with a bachelor’s in health and bachelor’s in physical education.

He is a wildland firefighter and a wrestling coach for the Baker School District.
