Emily Spath and Matthew Clark have announced their engagement, and are planning a wedding for Oct. 24, 2009, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, Fla.

A reception will follow at the historic Lakeland Yacht and Country Club on Lake Hollingsworth in Florida.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gene and Tina Spath. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida.

Clark is the son of Chuck and Scottie Butcher of Baker City. He is a 2000 graduate of Baker High School, and a 2005 graduate of Oregon State University.

The couple met during Clark’s term in the National Student Exchange program.

After the wedding, the couple will embark on a week-long Carribbean cruise before returning home to their newly purchased house in Bartow, Fla.

Matt will continue at his job at Franklin Templeton Investments and Emily at hers with Spath Jewelers.
