Higgins – Karch

Kathleen Higgins and Keith Karch of Mercer Island, Wash., have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage on Oct. 3, 2009, in Baker City.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dick and Debbie Higgins of Clayton, Calif., and Patrick and Bobbie Braswell of Baker City. She graduated from Baker High School in 2000 and Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash., as well as L’Universite d’Aix en Provence in Provence, France, in 2004 with degrees in French and English.

She is currently working as a consulting assistant for Watson Wyatt, a consulting firm, in Seattle.

The groom-to-be is the son of Karl and Roberta Karch of Fredericksburg, Va. He graduated from Neshaminy High School in Langhorn, Pa., in 1996 and Virginia Tech in 2000 with degrees in forestry and arboriculture. He was stationed at Parris Island, Va., with the U.S. Marine Corps and currently works as a certified arborist for Davey Tree Care International in Seattle.
