Mia Roe
Mia Marie Roe, 2 months, of Haines, died Nov. 7, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, as her mother held her in her loving arms.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Gray’s West and Company Pioneer Chapel. A private family-only interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor Ray Hedlund of Calvary Chapel will officiate.
Mia was born Aug. 25, 2008, in Baker City to Gerald Dewayne, III and Alicia Diane (Teeter) Roe. She lived with her parents in Haines and was a very happy baby.
Mia loved to talk. Her mother would bounce her on her knee while watching movies and Mia would talk to her during the whole show. She was just getting the “fake cry” act down and would use it while her mom was getting ready in the morning.
Mia would start by talking and when that didn’t get mom to hurry up she went into the sad face, whimper, wait for a response, and repeat. Mia was very curious and enjoyed seeing new things.
She was a mama’s girl and they loved being together.
Mia is survived by her parents Alicia and Gerald Roe III of Haines and grandparents, John and Karen DeShiro of Medical Springs, Carrie Carpenter of Middleton, Idaho and Gerald Dewayne Roe, II of John Day.
Memorial contributions can be made to Alicia Roe to help with medical expenses in care of Gray’s West and Co., 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, OR 97814.
