The Mengs
Bob and Irene Meng will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, and the couple’s children and grandchildren are inviting friends and neighbors to an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2248 Oak St.
The Mengs were married Nov. 10, 1948, in Baker. They moved to Portland in 1951, and returned to Baker in 1994.
They have five children, Jo Baltz, Sandra Meng-Milloy, Molly Butterfield, Robi Dooley and Ron Meng. They also have 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family asks that no gifts be given.

Darlene and Dick Sheehy Sr. will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 14.
Dick grew up in Durkee and Darlene grew up in Lime. They were married Nov. 14, 1948, and have lived in Baker ever since.
The Sheehys celebrated this anniversary milestone last summer by taking a trip to the Oregon Coast with their daughter, Jacque, and son, Dick Jr.
They enjoyed good food, watched the Oregon State University Beaver football team practice, gambled a little and talked a lot. The trip ended with a family dinner at Dick Jr.’s house in Beaverton.
The Sheehys’ family includes: daughter, Jacque, and her husband, Charlie Brandt, of Richland, Wash.; son, Dick Jr., and his wife, Terri, of Beaverton; grandchildren, Meagan Sheehy of Portland, Wade Brandt of Seattle, Brooke Sheehy of Beaverton, Ruthie Brandt of Richland, Wash., and Kali Brandt of Seattle, Wash.
