Watt – Martell
Laura Martell and Jeff Watt were united in marriage July 12, 2008, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Roy, Ore.
The bride’s parents are Hector and Brigetta Martell, and the groom’s parents are Jim and Carole Watt.
Officiants were Father James Logan of Sisters and Deacon James Watt of Baker City.
The bride wore a white gown, with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline. There was elaborate beading on the bodice and cathedral length train. She wore her mothers’ wedding veil with a comb of flowers in her hair.
The matron-of-honor was Stacey Pelster of Forest Grove. Bridesmaids were: Lisa Stewart of Forest Grove; Shannon Maynard of Hillsboro; Katrina Duyck of Hillsboro; and Anne Duyck of Forest Grove.
Best man was Timothy Watt of Phoenix, Ariz. Groomsmen were George Watt of Juneau, Alaska; Sean Watt of Boise, Idaho; Dan Watt of Hayden, Idaho; and Adam Duyck of Forest Grove.
The bridesmaids wore tea-length black dresses with a hunter green sash about the middle. The groomsmen wore short tuxedo jackets with the Black Watch Kilt.
The bride and groom were escorted down the aisle by a bagpiper in full kilt.
A reception and dance was held in the St. Francis school basement.
Ushers were Phillip Martell, of Savannah, Ga., and Scott Stewart of Forest Grove.
Special guests included the bride’s grandparents, Edmund and Gertrude Duyck of Hillsboro, the groom’s grandmother Vivian Watt of Buhl, Idaho, the groom’s Uncle John Watt of Mililani, Hawaii; and the groom’s aunt and uncle Bob and E.G. Watt of Buhl, Idaho.
For the honeymoon, the bride and groom traveled down the coast to San Francisco where they spent several days before continuing on to Lake Tahoe.
They will reside in Hillsboro.
