Mid-Day Connection plans special lunch and concert

Mid-Day Connection’s annual “A Day at the Dobbel Ranch” is set for

Thursday, Sept. 11. Cost is $10.50, and those attending can meet at

Calvary Baptist Church, 2107 Third St., at 10:45 a.m. to car pool.

The luncheon features Brenda Copeland from Bastrop, La., an accomplished recording artist with eight gospel music album projects and a DVD to her credit. Her talk is titled “From a Turnip Queen to a Princess,” based on her experiences as a former Miss America.

During her visit to Baker City, Copeland will also give a free concert Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Geiser-Pollman Park. Sugarfoot Express will open at 6:30 p.m., followed by Copeland at 7 p.m. A freewill offering will help pay for travel expenses.
