Anniversary:

Bill and Janice Cole of McMinnville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the end of last month.

The couple met in college at Monmouth and were married June 28, 1958 in Dallas.

At that time, Bill, who graduated from Baker High School in 1954, began his 30 year career as a machinist and gun-maker. Janice spent 30 years as a primary teacher. She taught in Baker City, Salem, Dayton and McMinnville.

The two, who are active golfers, have two children, Lacey Fiegi of Medford and Bill Cole of Denver. The couple has four grandsons, Eric, Ryan, Andrew and Adam.

Their children will host an open house on Saturday, July 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the McMinnville Elks Club.
