Days Creek shot almost 60 percent from the field Thursday, withstanding a fourth-quarter rally to defeat Blanchet, 65-56.
Senior point guard Jared Dunn played every minute, scoring 20 points, snaring 7 rebounds, dishing up 5 assists and making 5 steals for the victorious Wolves.
His backcourt partner, Jimmer Hunt, notched 16 points and 7 rebounds.
The pair helped the Wolves to a huge rebounding margin, 37-17.
Forward Trevor Lockward had 13 points for Days Creek on 6-of-9 shooting, while center Jack Tobben had 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Days Creek raced to a 35-26 halftime margin on the strength of 68 percent shooting (17-25). They upped the margin to 51-34 at the end of the third quarter, but the Cavailers scored 22 fourth-quarter points to make the margin respectable.
Forward Anthony Godlove led Blanchet with 29 points, including very sharp 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
With the victory, Days Creek advances to the semifinal round against Powder Valley. That game is set for 3 p.m. Friday.
Blanchet played Ione this morning in the consolation bracket.
